Dr. Jansen has been working on the CASE project since the initial implementation in 2007. He currently serves as Project Director of CASE a position that oversees the operations and performs much of the final editing of curriculum resources.
Before joining CASE, Dr. Jansen worked as an instructor for Oregon State University teaching courses in teacher education. During his employment at OSU, Dan completed his doctoral dissertation related to agriculture teacher efficacy with mathematics in agricultural subject matter. A secondary focus of his research was professional development of teachers in areas of high teaching anxiety, such as mathematics and laboratory-based science.
Dr. Jansen has practiced agriculture all of his life. Dan was raised on a dairy and crop operation in Oregon. He served in multiple leadership roles in the FFA organization, including District FFA President. The experiences in FFA led him to a career as an agriculture teacher in Oregon. Dr. Jansen taught 10 years at Sherwood High School addressing a diversity of subjects, including a strong focus on agricultural mechanics. Dan served as the Oregon Vocational Agriculture Teachers’ Association President and was named the OVATA Outstanding Teacher in 2004.
