Where do I begin implementing CASE in my school?
Since 2009, CASE has worked to serve the needs of agriculture and Career and Technical Education teachers.
CASE offers professional development events called CASE Institutes and BriefCASEs. Teachers attending these events become certified to use inquiry-based agricultural courses developed by CASE.
What does it mean to be CASE certified?
Teachers participating in CASE Institutes and BriefCASEs complete a teacher certification verifying their training.
Certified teachers retain curriculum access without subscription fees for their lifetime. Certifications and curriculum access move with the teacher throughout their career.
Can I purchase the curriculum without going through professional development?
While we equip teachers with a curriculum, CASE prides itself on delivering training to teachers through our professional development model.
Because the materials are inquiry-based, professional development is required to use our curriculum. We do not provide a curriculum by itself.
What courses are available through CASE?
We currently have multiple courses across four content areas: animal science, plant science, natural resources, or mechanics & engineering.
These courses are broken down into four levels: Introductory, Foundation, Specialization, and Capstone.
What is the general timeline for becoming CASE certified?
Each fall we publish our professional development schedule for the following summer’s Institutes. CASE Institute registration opens in the winter and closes in late spring.
BriefCASE events occur year-round; check the current BriefCASE schedule for an event near you.
Are there any prerequisites to attending CASE professional development?
CASE Foundations is optional for new CASE teachers. It is a free, virtual, self-paced course that you can access 24/7. After you complete it, you will receive a professional development certificate on your MyCASE dashboard.
Are CASE courses aligned to standards?
Our curriculum aligns with Common Career and Technical Core Content, Common Core Math, and Common Core ELA standards. The updated alignments to the National AFNR Content Standards are forthcoming after publishing by The Council. Additionally, our curriculum correlates with the Next Generation Science Standards three dimensions of science learning: Crosscutting Concepts, Science and Engineering Practices, and Disciplinary Core Ideas.
Does CASE offer End-of-Course assessments (EOCs)?
Yes. CASE developed the end-of-course (EoC) assessments to align with CASE concepts. NOCTI is the CASE partner for third-party delivery. EoC assessments serve as a nationwide, valid, reliable, and comparable measurement of student success.
Does CASE certification require renewal?
Once you become CASE certified in any course, you retain that course certification forever.
Regardless of who funded your certification, the curriculum follows the certified teacher.
Does CASE certify PD hours?
CASE provides PD certificates immediately after you become certified to fulfill licensure requirements and provide documentation to your administration. These can be found on your MyCASE dashboard under "My Registrations."
How often is the curriculum updated?
Our team revises the curriculum regularly to maintain the most relevant, industry-based information possible.
Once completed, revisions are accessible immediately through MyCASE.
My district requires a review of new curriculums; how can I request review access?
If you need temporary access to the curriculum to submit to administrators or the textbook committee for review, complete the Review Form. You should hear from a CASE Team member within three business days.
Please note that this will require signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement, as our curriculum is Copyrighted.
